Spin a Yarn

The Coal Creek Spinners knitting by a fire.
An exhibition of work by the group Coal Creek Spinners.
The group will be showcasing their love of weaving yarn into wearable clothes, arts and crafts and talking to visitors about a variety of techniques and fibres along the way.
The Coal Creek Spinners meet on the first Monday of every month at Arcarda Rooms in Coal Creek from 11am to 2pm.
When: Friday, May 2 10am to 3pm.

Shakespeare Festival

There’s plenty to see at Stratford’s Shakespeare festival.
This is the 30 year anniversary of the Shakespeare on the River Festival in Stratford.
Over the course of the two week festival there will be over 20 events for visitors to see. The Community Players will be putting on Orthelo, there is a Bard’s Banquet on May 3 and a medieval market faire day on the village green to finish the festival.
When: Sunday, April 27 to Sunday, May 17.

Southern Rail Trail Run

Marathon runners in Gippsland.
The inaugural Southern Rail Trail Run is happening at the end of May so get your joggers on and prepare to take in the idyllic countryside of Gippsland.
The event has a number of different distances so runners of all levels can enjoy the event. There are 100km, 72km, 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km and 5km runs.
When: Friday, May 30 - Sunday, June 1.
Where: Leongatha.
Darby River Half Marathon
Experience the coastal running trail at Wilsons Promontory National Park. The trail run gives joggers the opportunity to traverse the wonderful landscape of Wilsons Prom and is a great introductory jog for novice trail runners.
There are also options for 10km, 5km or 2km runs.
When: Sunday May 4.

Brandy Creek Estate - Unlimited Churrasco Night
Experience the taste of South America at Brandy Creek Estate. The restaurant offers patrons to indulge in slow-roasted churrasco meat skewers served straight from the grill.
There are two sessions on the night that both run for two hours. Adult tickets are $74.95 and teen tickets are $49.95.

Inverloch Speed Cubing Tournament

Speed Cuber.
Do you think you’re quick on the cube? Test your speed against other cubers this weekend at Inverloch Community Hub as the World Cube Association’s Speedcubing arrives in Gippsland.
If you’re an avid cuber or you want to see the speed in action then Inverloch is the place to be this weekend.

Ross Noble at Sale

Ross Noble’s Cranium of Curiosities show is on in Traralgon.
The absurdist English stand-up comedian is doing a show this month in Traralgon. If you’ve got the weekend free and want to have a bit of a chuckle with friends and family then Ross Noble’s show could be for you.
