Keeping the kids entertained over the weekend can require some creative thinking and some hunting for affordable options.

Foster and district agricultural show

A woodchopping competition at the Foster agricultural show.
The 118th Foster agricultural show will include woodchopping, dog high jumping and giant pumpkin growing competitions.

South Gippsland Garlic Festival

There will be over 70 stallholders at this year’s garlic festival, where you’ll find breweries, winemakers, live entertainment and plenty of kids activities.

Concession - $10.
Children aged three to 16 - $5.

The Paynesville Classic Boat Rally and Maritime Festival

There will be live music, buskers, model boats and a boat building competition

Neerim Artsfest

The Neerim Artsfest biennial celebrates local sculptural artists by displaying their work throughout Neerim South and surrounding venues.

Hooked on Lakes - Seafood and fishing festival

Fresh seafood available at the Hooked on Lakes festival.
This free, family-friendly event for seafood lovers includes food trucks, bar service, live music, kids activities, a fishing gear swap meet and cooking and filleting demonstrations.

Phillip Island Penrite 100 Classic

The Phillip Island Penrite 100 Classic.
The annual Phillip Island Classic has over 350 historic racing cars competing across 11 different motorsport categories.

Tom Curtain - Katherine Outback Experience

Australian singer-songwriter Tom Curtain is hitting the road with his outback show Katherine Outback Experience. This is not just live music, the show includes horse training and working dog demonstrations that can entertain children of all ages.

Inverloch Equinox Festival
