Saturday, November 1

Alpine Trout Farm Noojee at the Trafalgar Market with Smoked trout and smoked trout fillets, smoked trout pate, trout caviar and smoked salmon.

"Make it, bake it, sew it, grow it" is the motto behind the Trafalgar Markets. The morning markets include a diverse range of locally produced and hand crafted goods. Families can explore a wide variety of stalls that offer vegetables, bread, cheeses, meats and handcrafted knick-knacks.

Next Market: Saturday, November 1.

When: The first Saturday of every month, from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Where: McGregor Park in Trafalgar.

Fish Creek Doughnuts is always a must try.

Held in the rural village of Koonwarra, this community event showcases local produce. It was founded in 2000 by a not-for-profit association of the region's growers, producers and specialty food makers. Dogs welcome on a lead.

Next market: Saturday, November 1.

When: First Saturday of each month, 8am-1pm.

Where: Koonwarra Memorial Park, Koonwarra.

Apples, coffee and nuts at the Bairnsdale Farmers’ Market.

“How would you want to miss the chance of obtaining a variety of fresh apples and rhubarb or pure honey or fudge or ice cream and berries?” ask the organisers.

Produce includes lamb (and lamb sausages), smoked meats, venison, Dargo walnuts, goats milk and cheeses, pasta, jams, sauces, chutneys and eggs.”

Where: Howitt Park Bowls Club, McEacharn St, East Bairnsdale.

Glenmaggie Wines sold at Heyfield Market.

Heyfield market is hosted at the St James Church in Heyfield on the first Saturday of every month. The event has a large variety of goods on offer including jewellery, cakes, fresh produce and home cooked sweets.

Sunday, November 2

Set in the farming valley town of Thorpdale, this market has live music, food vans, arts and crafts, jewellery, plants, home wares, face painting for the kids, fresh Thorpdale grown potatoes and a community sausage sizzle.

Next market: Sunday, November 2.

When: The first Sunday of every second month, 10am-2pm.

Where: 14 Johnstone Street, Thorpdale.

Freshly made handmade soaps available at Maffra Rotary Community Market.

At this market you’ll find sausage sizzles, food vans, coffee stalls, doughnuts, ugg boots, native plants, candles, jewellery and soap, and there are activities for kids including face painting.

Next market: Sunday November 2, 9am - 12:30pm.

When: The first Sunday of every month.

Where: Island Reserve, McMahon Drive, Maffra.

Kongwak market runs every Sunday on the town’s main drag at the general store and sheds. There are plenty of stalls selling a wide variety of retro clothing, pre-loved books, antiques, vinyl, hand crafted hats, bags and jumpers and a whole lot more.

There are two cafes and a bakery operating, and don’t forget to grab a cinnamon treat from Fish Creek Donuts.

Saturday, November 8

The crowds at Coal Creek Farmers Market.

A community-run monthly gathering of around 30 local growers, farmers and specialty food makers from the south Gippsland region.

Selling bread, meats, eggs, seasonal fruit and vegetables, fresh fish, preserves, cakes, cheese, olive oil, honey, wine, garden plants and more.

Next Market: Saturday, November 8.

When: Second Saturday of each month, 8am-12.30pm.

Where: Coal Creek Community Park & Museum, Silkstone Road, Korumburra.

Anzac biscuits and pickles available at Metung Market.

Hosted on the Metung Village Green on the waterfront of Bancroft Bay.

This market has a wide variety of homegrown and locally gathered produce, from fruits and vegetables, fungi and herbs to coffee, nuts, jams and preserves. There are also liquors, baked breads and sweets.

There are plenty of food stalls, so no need to pack a lunch, plus a plethora of homemade clothing and artisan items.

Sunday, November 9

Chocolate biscuits available at Longford Community Market.

The Longford market boasts a whopping 60 stalls. There’s an absolute bonanza of goods available here; indoor plants, coffee roasters, dumplings, Hungarian street food, handmade arts and crafts, distilled spirits and lots more.

Where: Longford Recreation Reserve, Spencer Street.

Dumplings available at Inverloch Rural Farmers Market.

Pop down to The Glade and enjoy over 50 stalls selling local produce and food. The market offers seasonal fruit and vegetables, seafood, meat, eggs, plants, local wines, olive oils, honey and much more.

When: The third Saturday of each month.

Location: The Glade and Soundshell (near Rainbow Park), The Esplanade, Inverloch.

Flowers and succulents available at Drouin Craft and Produce Market.

“With up to 50 Stalls to choose from you won’t be disappointed with what your Market has to offer, so come along and enjoy the morning.”

This craft and produce market is run by the Drouin Rotary Club.

Where: Civic Park, Young Street, Drouin.

Freddo Frog cupcakes available at Warragul Farmers Market.

Founded by Erika McInerney and Sallie Jones in 2013, the Warragul Farmers Market is a fantastic place to meet and support local farmers. The market is run by volunteers.

Next market: Saturday, November 15.

When: Third Saturday of every month.

Where: Logan Park, Warragul.

Freshly baked bread and pie at Prom Country Farmers Market.

The Prom Country Farmers Market says it “aims to bring local community members and visitors a taste of our bountiful local produce”. 

“We support our local farmers and artisan producers by ensuring they have a direct outlet in which to sell their produce.”

Where: Main Street, in the grounds of the FWMAC Hall, Foster.

At the Sale Producers market you will find a variety of locally grown and crafted goods that give visitors a homely atmosphere to enjoy any number of handpicked, preserved, baked or handcrafted products.

Sunday, November 16

Hand crafted wooden designs at Coronet Bay Market.

A cozy little market with a variety of stalls located at Coronet Bay Recreation Reserve. The market moves to a local warm hall over the winter. Hot coffee, cakes, slices and other foods available.

When: Every third Sunday of the month 9am-2pm

Saturday, November 22

Deep fried spring rolls at Lions Traralgon Farmers Market.

Community groups and local sellers come together in Kay Street Gardens in Traralgon to offer all sorts of food, produce and products.

Next market: Saturday, November 22.

When: The fourth Saturday of each month.

Where: Kay Street Gardens, Traralgon.

Handmade toys at Yarragon Craft and Produce Market.

Held in the tourist town of Yarragon this market showcases a large array of local produce as well as arts and craft stalls.

The market is at Waterloo Park during the drier months (subject to weather conditions) and at the Public Hall during the wetter months.

Next market: Saturday, November 22.

When: Fourth Saturday of each month, 9am-1pm.

Where: Waterloo Park and the community hall on Campbell Street in winter.

Sunday, November 23

Market goers grabbing a feed at Hagoo.

The Howitt Park market is a bustling community market run by Sunrise Rotary Group Bairnsdale. The amount of stalls varies but in some months it can have up to 155 sellers.

The market stalls sell designer pots, decorated cakes, handmade clothing including woolen socks and knitted jumpers, scented candles, fresh produce and groceries, garden furniture and several food trucks.

This market is also pooch friendly.

When: The fourth Sunday of every month.

Where: Howitt Park, Bairnsdale.

Saturday, November 29.

The Mirboo North Market hosts a massive variety of stalls and produce.

Mirboo North Market hosts “growers, bakers, merchants and makers”, and is held at Baromi Park in the centre of town.

Profits from running the Mirboo North Market go to community projects in the town.

Next market: Saturday, November 29.

When: The last Saturday of the month.
