With over 100 stalls, Rokeby Market does not disappoint

Saturday was perfect weather for the last Rokeby Market until September, can't wait until then

The Gippsland Monitor spent Saturday morning at Rokeby Market checking out everything on offer at one of Gippsland’s largest farmers markets.

Rokeby Market has over 100 stalls and claims to be one of the oldest markets in the entire region.

Some of the stalls I saw had plants, coffee stalls, handmade toys, Ugg boots, maps, statues, cakes, bread, chopping boards, bath bombs from Baths By Design, milkshakes from Gippsland Jersey and spirits from Logans Micro-Distillery.

We also took the opportunity to chat to a few of the stall operators and hear about the products that they are passionate about.

Sallies Jones, the co-founder of Gippsland Jersey, said she has been coming to Rokeby Market for 9 years and told us the milk for Gippsland Jersey “is produced literally five minutes down the road” and then put “into Australia's best milk.

“Milkshakes are a vibe out here. So it's 24 ounces of milkshake for $6. So very much the country value, when we get Melbourne people visiting, it blows their mind. They're like, what? We pay like $12 for these.”
