Police seek dashcam footage after fatal Morwell collision

The body of a 40-year-old man was found on Princes Freeway overpass on Thursday morning.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have arrested - and subsequently released pending further enquiries - a man following what police say was a fatal collision in Morwell on Thursday morning.

Police were notified just before 9am that the body of a man had been found by a passerby on the Princes Freeway overpass, which runs over Princess Drive.

Police believe a vehicle struck the 40-year-old man from Traralgon between 1am and 9am on May 22.

A 28-year-old Lakes Entrance man was arrested in Bairnsdale yesterday afternoon. He was interviewed by police and has been released.

Police are asking any motorists in the vicinity during the time period stated to check their dashcams, as passing motorists may have inadvertently captured footage relevant to the investigation.
