🎊 Keeping the kids entertained over the forthcoming school holiday break (September 22 - October 3) will be a logistical and financial challenge for many local parents and carers, so we’ve compiled a list of reasonably-priced activities to keep the family entertained.

GamesFest

Fun and interactive games will be on at Morwell Library.
This free event at Morwell Library celebrates all things gaming. There will be gaming consoles, board games, competitions, leaderboards and prizes.

Once Upon a Time a Princess

Julianne Bremner as different princesses.
Live performances by Gippsland entertainer Julianne Bremner. Each night Bremner performs as a different princess from pop culture, including Ariel, Rapunzel and Barbie.
When: September 22 - October 1, 10:30am.
Where: Parky’s Play Centre, Traralgon.
Children's Book Party

Illustrator James Hart will be attending the Bairnsdale Children’s Book Party.
This free event is sponsored by the Children's Book Council of Australia. It will include special guest illustrator James Hart, who drew for the children’s books Ninja Girl, Fartboy and Shower Land. There will be other local authors, activities, badge making, cakes and treat bags.

Celebrate the Children's Book Council of Australia

Caz Goodwin and Zoe Bennett’s book Wombat Dreaming.
Another free event sponsored by the Children's Book Council of Australia. The event will feature Australian picture book author Caz Goodwin, who wrote Grace and Mr. Milligan, Daisy Runs Wild and Little Matilda. There will also be activities, story reading, a dress up parade, cakes and treat bags.

Natural Horsemanship School Holiday Clinics

School holiday riding program at Wattle Bank Farm.
A school holiday riding program for children and young adults between six and 21 years old (five year olds are also welcome but must be accompanied by an adult).
The five-hour lessons run Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the school holidays (except for public holidays) and lunch, equipment and horses are all provided.
When: September 22, 24, 26 and 29.

Baw Baw Squash Club school holiday sessions

Baw Baw Squash Club holiday sessions.
Baw Baw Squash Club is holding a beginner-friendly squash program over the school holidays. Six sessions for a child costs $60.

The Dino Maniacs in Moe

This interactive, dinosaur-themed show is designed for kids one to 12 years old. Children can enjoy baby dinosaur toys and sing and dance along to dino-themed tunes.

Emma Memma Dance Island Party

The children’s entertainer Emma Memma.
Children's entertainer Emma Memma will dance and sing along to songs including Coconut Tree, Dance Island, Beach Trolley and Jellyfish Blob.

Whalebone

A theatrical experience for the whole family, recommended for children between the ages of six and 12.

Wacky Lolly Shooting Machine Workshop

The wacky lolly shooting machine aims to entertain and educate.
A one-hour workshop designed for children who love science. Kids will work as a team and use recycled materials to build a machine that shoots lollies.

Next Generation Art Exhibition

Lexie Fordham ‘Flight at Sunrise’. Paynesville Primary School, 2022.
This exhibition gives Gippsland students the chance to exhibit their work in a professional gallery setting.
